Investigation of molecular structure and dynamics, including the interactions between molecular systems, as well as the precise spectroscopic search for very small but yet significant effects predicted from the “new physics beyond the standard model”, developing novel time-domain spectroscopic techniques throughout the microwave region.

Venia lengendi in Physical Chemistry acquired in 2004 at the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover after receiving the doctoral degree at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and staying at the National Institute Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg MD and then the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory & Harvard University, Cambridge MA from 1993-1997. appointed Außerplanmäßiger Professor at the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover in 2010.
