Development and Comparison of an Optimised Pulsed Electroacoustic (PEA) Measurement System

Publikation: Beitrag in Buch/Bericht/Sammelwerk/KonferenzbandAufsatz in KonferenzbandForschungPeer-Review

Abstract

This article describes the development, construction, and validation of an optimised pulsed electroacoustic measurement system (PEA). The optimisation is based on the method presented in [1]. The aim of the setup and optimisation is the long-term online investigation of polymeric insulating materials regarding space charge behaviour even after more than 1000 h of exposure. The detailed structure of the measurement system is described. Furthermore, the system and its calibration are validated by linearity measurements. Finally, the results obtained with the optimised system are compared with those of a conventional PEA measurement system using the example of high-density polyethylene and silicone. It has been shown that an improvement in the signal quality of up to a factor of 3 can be achieved.
