N1 - Teile dieses Artikels greifen auf Dokumente zurück, die im Laufe der FID-Förderung und Evaluierung entstanden sind (siehe Literaturliste). An einigen Stellen wurden Formulierungen der Stellungnahme der Kommission direkt übernommen, um die vom Präsidium verabschiedeten förderpolitischen Implikationen wortgetreu wiederzugeben.

N2 - This article examines the evaluation of the «Fachinformationsdienste für die Wissenschaft» (FID - specialised information services for science) funding programme, describes the methodological and temporal approach of the evaluation and outlines its key results. In addition, its evaluates the study from the perspective of the Ausschuss für Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken und Informationssysteme (AWBI - Committee on Scientific Library Services and Information Systems) of the German Research Foundation (DFG), and presents the main recommendations for the further development of the funding programme. The conclusion of the evaluation is that the funding programme has been very successful and should therefore be extended. The funding conditions should be further developed, focusing on the tasks of a FID and the cooperation of all FID and libraries, with the overarching goal of establishing a jointly supported information infrastructure for science. Regular evaluations, the determination of (quantitative and qualitative) success factor indicators as well as a long-term financing perspective for long-term supraregional tasks still pose challenges.
