    Description

The MCVD system (Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition) is used to produce optical fibre preforms by vapor deposition of pure quartz glass and doped glasses (B, F, Ge, P). Using the optional CDS add-on module, solid precursor compounds can also be sublimated and introduced into the reaction zone to produce actively doped fibers, for example with aluminum or rare earth compounds (e.g. Er3+, Yb3+).
The system enables the production of step index and gradient index profiles as well as further process steps such as the in-situ solution doping, the overclad process, the stretching of preforms and the collapsing of quartz glass tubes for geometry adjustment.
