    Equipments Details

    Description

The device is used to automatically analyze the radial and longitudinal refractive index profile of fused silica-based optical preforms. The measurements are carried out at a wavelength of 632.8 nm with an absolute accuracy of the refractive index of ±2x10-4 and a reproducibility of less than 5x10-5. Samples with diameters between 5 and 90 mm and maximum lengths of up to 80 cm can be analyzed. The device calculates preform geometry metrics such as core diameter, preform outer diameter and concentricity from the recorded index profile data.
