Research interests
Senior scientist with experience in coastal engineering, hydraulic modelling, data acquisition and instrumentation. His research focuses on wave run-up and wave overtopping. Since 2009, Dr. Kerpen has been involved in numerous national and international research projects, some of them with a leading function.Since 2017, Dr. Kerpen has been responsible for laboratory operations at the Ludwig-Franzius-Institute as Chief Operations Officer.
