Project Details
Description
The focus will be on materially, structurally and property graded structures in order to achieve a variation of the feature profile, e. g. through grain size, alloy and phase distributions as well as porosity gradients. By wire arc additive manufacturing 3D structures will be built, characterised with challenge to control the melt metallurgy without compromising the additive structural design. The aim of the project is to investigate how this additive manufacturing process can be used to produce such functionally graded material structures and what property profiles can be achieved.
