Description
For the DERIEL project, a consortium of 12 project partners has come together under the leadership of Siemens Gas and Power GmbH & Co. KG. DERIEL is part of the electrolyzer scale-up work area of the H2Giga lead project. The overall objective is the de-risking of a newly developed pressurized series PEM electrolyzer based on the Silyzer 300 technology with regard to its application for the production of kerosene or other fuels in a complete process chain. A prerequisite for reliable series production is a fundamental understanding of the degradation mechanisms at all levels of the continuous and dynamic operation modeling of the electrolyzer and the overall plant.
The objective of the present subproject is to create a digital twin of the water electrolysis system considered in DERIEL. In essence, this is a collection of digital artifacts/models that describe the behavior of a real system; there is a data link between the digital twin and the real system that continuously compares the digital artifacts with data from the associated real system. With the help of the digital twin to be developed, the work concerning the electrolysis system is to be supported in terms of model theory in order to minimize the associated risks for the value chain.
