Project Details
Description
Monitoring transport infrastructures during their lifetime is one of the key tasks of geodesy. In this context, it is necessary to continuously record the actual health status of transport infrastructure over a large area. Through this research project, traditional monitoring on the ground is extended to a larger region through the use of radar remote sensing observations. Potential deformations of traffic structures will be detected by means of interferometric analysis of radar images from the Sentinel-1 satellite. For maximizing the density of the displacement information, different methods for time series analysis will be integrated. To ensure efficient processing, the operational process chain will be integrated into a cloud environment that already stores the required Sentinel-1 data (CODE-DE). The goal of the project is to generate an innovative risk assessment map for vulnerable infrastructure in Schleswig-Holstein.
