Abstract
Grouted Joints present force-fitted connections between foundation pile and support structure of offshore wind turbines. High strength mortar or concrete (grout) are used and have to be executed under special offshore conditions. This article considers special items for building materials and the offshore execution of grouted joints. Requirements of the fresh and hardened properties of grout materials will be elucidated and the use of steel fibres due to opportunities and risks will be discussed. Furthermore the load bearing behaviour of the component structure will be presented by performed tests. The confinement effect of the tube-in-tube-construction as well as the implication of steel fibers has been taken into account.
