Abstract

Automated Development of Customized Multi- step Drill Tools. Using multi-step tools in metal cutting processes, different cutting operations can be carried out with only one tool. Due to this, nonproductive times and tool costs can be reduced. The presented approach focuses upon the computer aided standardized development of such multi step tools. A reduction of cost and time for designing the individual tools can be achieved. Thereby, multi-step tools can become an attractive alternative for manufacturing components even in small batch productions.
