Rekonstruktive Bildungsforschung jenseits vom Fall: Studien zum Interaktionsraum institutioneller Bildung

The subject of reconstructive educational research is classically individual cases. This empirical focus brings with it the problem of generalization, namely that the general must be discovered within the particular. However, studies all too easily become entangled in the individuation of their cases, without arriving at generalizable theoretical statements that go beyond the formation of real types. Against this backdrop, the book presents an alternative empirical approach that focuses on speech acts typical of social practices, but not specific to any single case. The author demonstrates that by analyzing such data, the often precarious generalization claim of reconstructive educational research can be more reliably fulfilled. This methodological proposal is elaborated and substantiated with material in various individual studies on the interactional space of institutional education in schools and universities.
